Security Sealants

DynaPoxy™ EP-1200DynaPoxy EP-1200

“Pick-Proof” Rigid, Two-Part, Epoxy Resin Compound

DynaPoxy™ EP-1200 is a “pick-proof” rigid, two-part, epoxy resin compound. It has been specially designed to be an excellent joint sealant for high security areas of prisons and other security areas. DynaPoxy™ EP-1200 can also be used as a structural adhesive for vertical & overhead bonding, grouting and for bolt embedment, due to its high compressive strength and non-sag properties. It is packaged in a 1-1/2 gallon unit including the Base and Activator. Color Packs are available separately for purchase.

  • Outstanding adhesion to similar or dissimilar materials, particularly in concrete and metal.
  • Use in high security areas where a harder material is required and flexibility is less important.

DynaFlex™ SC

Tamper-Resistant, One-Part, Non-Sag Elastometric STPU

DynaFlex™ SC is a tamper resistant security sealant. DynaFlex™ SC is more flexible than epoxy in composition and is designed to achieve high tensile and tear strengths, abrasion resistance and an average ultimate hardness of at least 55, yet withstand 25% total joint movement. This is a unique one-part, non-sag, tamper-resistant elastometric STPU joint sealant with many of the strengths of two-component security sealants but with the user-friendly ease-of application properties of a one component sealant.DynaFlex SC

  • This rugged but flexible sealant is ideally suited for use in institutional and correctional complex security installations.
  • Performs equally well in other public buildings and facilities where ordinary sealants are easily damaged or torn out by tampering and acts of vandalism.

Protect Schools, Day Cares, & Playgrounds with Pecora Security Sealants

Protect Students & Young Children

With September right around the corner, there is no better time then when the students are off for summer, to make the necessary repairs to the interior and exterior of the building. Before making these repairs, the use and installation of Security Sealants should be strongly considered. Schools and similar facilities like; day cares and playgrounds, are very prone to idle tampering by students and young children. This idle tampering and vandalism leads to damages to the facilities, which in turn will require costly repairs. Along with the costly repairs, the chance of young children ingesting the extracted material can lead to a number of health related problems. Because of this, Security Grade Sealants are becoming a more viable option to traditional caulks and sealants. These Tamper Resistant and Tamper Proof sealants can significantly extend the life of the building and prevent costly damages and repairs. All of the areas within the reach of students and young children, both interior and exterior, should be properly sealed with security sealants to protect against potential tampering. Pecora DynaPoxy™ EP-1200 & DynaFlex™ SC, both available at Tanner, are great options to secure your schools, day cares, and playgrounds. Shop for Pecora DynaPoxy™ EP-1200 & DynaFlex™ SC here.

Why Choose Security Sealants?

Pecora School Coverage
(1) Use Pecora Dynaflex (2) Use Pecora Dynatrol II

Pecora Security Sealants not only protect the building itself, but they also protect the inhabitants inside and around the building. In facilities like schools, day cares, and playgrounds there can be much more at stake other than just the potential repair cost due to tampering. Pecora Security Sealants have the necessary properties to prevent this idle tampering and vandalism. In addition to the safety factors these security sealants present, user can also benefit from:

  • Decreased risk of lawsuits
  • Decreased maintenance costs
  • Increased service periods of sealants
  • Decreased replacement costs

Pecora Security Sealants vs Standard Caulking & Sealants

Shore Hardness ScaleMost caulks and sealants can be easily tampered with or are pickable. Pickable meaning, these caulks and sealants can be interfered with to the point of removal. Most of these flexible sealants are usually based on urethane or silicone chemisties and can be pulled away to expose a joint.

Pecora Security Sealants, often referred to as Tamper-Proof or Tamper-Resistant, far exceed the hardness and tensile strength of standard caulks and sealants. This makes it much more difficult for these security sealants to be dug into, cut, or pulled from a joint. A Tamper-Proof  or Tamper-Resistant Security Sealants requires a Shore A hardness of up to 80+ and 50, respectively, this prevents them from easily being extracted from a joint. Typically architectural sealants are designed for durability, weatherproofing, and accommodating expansion joint movement. Pecora DynaPoxy™ EP-1200 is a Tamper-Proof security sealant available at Tanner.

When using Tamper-Proof Sealants, you lose all movement capabilities. But when Tamper Resistance was necessary and not having any movement capabilities was unacceptable, a new class of sealant was needed. Pecora stepped in and came out with this new class of security sealants. The newly formulated sealants can be classified as Tamper-Resistant as opposed to Tamper Proof. These products have limited movement capabilities and can be used in properly designed joints. The sealants will allow for both a moving joint as well as having an acceptable level of tamper resistance. Pecora DynaFlex™ SC is a Tamper-Resistant security sealant available at Tanner.

Why Use Security Sealants?

In the majority of building projects, sealants are used solely to protect the building. However, when the building is a daycare, hospital or prison, there is much more at stake. It’s important that sealant cannot be pulled from a joint and eaten by a small child, used by psychiatric patients to hurt themselves, or removed to expose a joint for an inmate to hide a weapon or illicit drugs. Security sealants contain the properties to prevent idle tampering and vandalism that can endanger children, patients and citizens. In addition to safety, the use of security sealants present many benefits from an economic perspective:

• Decreased risk of lawsuits
• Decreased maintenance costs
• Increased service periods of sealants
• Decreased replacement costs

“Tamper resistant” or “tamper proof” security sealants have been specifically engineered to offer enhanced hardness properties that distinguish them from typical construction sealants.
